Maiden voyage of our Tug Garrett Shields 3-04-11

Judy and I enjoyed a day at our pond running a couple of our tug boats.  This was Judy's first voyage with the Garrett Shields tug.  Both tugs ran flawlessly.  All and all a very relaxing experience was had. Total time for this adventure was  four hours.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Happy Spring time to all,

Michael & Judy

Dwight Hartman Tug "Garrett Shields" at 85% Complete

I have enjoyed the cold, wet weather working on this project.  This is my indoor sport.

Please find attached my latest photographs of the Dwight Hartman Tug "Garrett Shields."  I am currently at 85% completion.

This tug was found in a trash can in The Woodlands, TX. I purchased it from a local hobby shop and began restoration in January 2011.  The entire superstructure from the main deck up was scratch built.

Length 42" / Beam  13" / Height 23" above main deck

Happy sailing,

Michael O'Day
